The Story Behind the Guide

The road to Barcelona wasn’t a straight line. It started on the coast of Cyprus, led through several years in the United Kingdom—split between the industrial energy of Manchester and the historic charm of Leeds—and eventually pointed toward a city that had left a mark during a few short visits. There’s a specific feeling some places give you: a sense of familiarity that tells you it’s time to stop being a visitor and start being a local. In 2019, that feeling became a permanent reality.

Barcelona was the choice because it’s a place that actually embraces the individual. It’s a city where diversity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the literal fabric of the streets. It’s an environment where who you are is accepted, and who you want to be is encouraged.

After living, working, and breathing the city since 2019, the mental map of hidden spots and local habits has grown. This space started as a way to answer the constant stream of questions from friends—the "where should we eat?" and "what’s the best way to see the city?" texts that every local gets. It’s a collection of that acquired knowledge, shared with the same honesty you’d give a friend looking for the real version of Barcelona.

Beyond the city itself, this website is a personal playground for experimenting with new technology. It’s a project born out of genuine excitement for digital creation and a desire to see how a local's perspective can be brought to life online. It’s a work in progress, an exploration of both a beautiful city and the tools used to talk about it.
