The Story Behind the Guide
The road to Barcelona wasn’t a straight line. It started at the coastal city of Larnaca in Cyprus, led through several years in the United Kingdom, starting with the industrial energy of Manchester and followed by the historic charm of Leeds and eventually pointed toward a city that had left a mark during a few short visits. There’s a specific feeling some places give you: a sense of familiarity that tells you it’s time to stop being a visitor and start being a local. In 2019, that feeling became a one way ticket.
Barcelona was the choice because it is a place that actually embraces the individual. A city where diversity is lived and makes the literal fabric of the streets. Who you are is fine. Who you want to become is, if anything, encouraged..
After living, working, and breathing the city since 2019, the mental map of hidden spots and local habits has grown. This site started as a way to answer questions from friends, the "where should we eat?" and "How do I book tickets to the Sagrada Família?" texts that every local gets. It is a collection of that acquired knowledge, shared with the same honesty you give a friend looking for the real version of Barcelona.
All content on this site is the result of 7 years of personal exploration and first-hand experience living in Barcelona. It may not be copied or reproduced without permission.
Beyond the city itself, this website is a personal playground for experimenting with new technology. It is a project born out of genuine excitement for digital creation and a desire to see how a local's perspective can be brought to life online. It’s a work in progress, an exploration of both a beautiful city and the tools used to talk about it using personal experiences and content gathered over the years.
